Woes linger for state health insurance exchange enrollees

The woes haven’t ended for enrollees who had first-year sign-up troubles through the state’s health insurance exchange. Officials with Nevada Health Link said Wednesday that some consumers sent the wrong paperwork to qualify for an exemption from a federal tax for being uncovered in 2014.

Man sentenced in 2009 armored car robbery

A Las Vegas man was sentenced in federal court Tuesday for his part in the 2009 robbery of an armored car driver. U.S. District Judge Jennifer A. Dorsey sentenced Arquarius Robertson, 31, of Las Vegas, to 14 years in prison, five years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $36,320 in restitution.

Former UNLV athletic director Jim Weaver dies

Jim Weaver, who served as UNLV’s athletic director from 1992 to 1994 and later worked as the AD at Western Michigan and Virginia Tech died Wednesday in Blacksburg, Va., after a decade-long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 70 years old.
