UNLV football GPA on the rise

The grade-point average of UNLV’s football team rose from a 2.35 in the fall semester to a 2.7 for the term that recently ended, coach Tony Sanchez said. He also said 11 players made the Dean’s List.

FWIW, new words have been added to the dictionary. The abbreviation that stands for “for what it’s worth” is among 1,700 new entries that have been added recently to the Merriam-Webster Unabridged dictionary, according to Merriam-Webster spokeswoman Meghan Lunghi and the unabridged dictionary’s website.

UNLV’s football program posted a four-year Academic Progress Rate average of 937. The minimum to be eligible for postseason play is 930. All 17 UNLV sports achieved above the four-year required APR.
