Las Vegas Metro Chamber selects executive vice president

Jerry Carnahan, former president and CEO of Farmers New World Life, a leading U.S.-based life insurance provider, has been appointed executive vice president of the Las Vegas Metro Chamber, the largest business organization in Nevada. Carnahan will also serve as executive director of the Las Vegas Metro Chamber Foundation, a 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to community leadership, workforce and education initiatives.

LETTERS: Market succumbs to dumb economic policies

We are now seeing the result of socialist political policies with regard to the stock market. Between the end of last week and Monday morning, we saw a loss of almost 10 percent of the market. Yes, it is due in great part to the events in China and the Pacific Rim, but it is also due to the incredibly stupid economic policies of the United States.
