FCC considering ban of Redskins name

The Federal Communications Commission is considering whether to punish broadcasters for using the moniker of the Washington NFL team, the Redskins, a word many consider a slur to Native Americans, the agency’s chairman indicated on Tuesday.

Panel: Feds need tools to fight patient dumping

The federal law on emergency care needs to be strengthened to combat practices of “patient dumping” like the ones that gave a Nevada-run mental health facility a black eye last year, according to a new report from the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.

LAKE MEAD — Anglers targeting striped bass have had better success over the week by jigging deeper. Despite the abundance of live bait, fish are hitting on artificial lures. Sunrise continues to be the best time to hit the water. The black bass species are hitting occasionally on shad but primarily on lures in about 45 to 60 feet of water.
