Chapman Chrysler Jeep holds pet event

In honor of Pet Appreciation Week (June 1-7), Chapman Chrysler Jeep, in the Valley Automall, held its first annual “Pamper Your Pet Day” June 7.

Designed to cater to pets of all shapes and sizes, the event featured a selection of free products from local pet-focused vendors, as well as a variety of services to include check-ups, grooming and nail clipping. More than 200 attendees arrived with their furry friends.

“We are a family-owned dealership and we know that dogs are a part of our family,” said Chapman Chrysler Jeep General Manager Gary Brewer. “We love bringing the community in to experience our dealership and this was a fun and unique way to bring both pet vendors and pet enthusiasts together.”

Pups could be seen with fresh blowouts after a quick wash by Alicia’s Mobile Dog and Cat Grooming. Gift bags were given to each attendee, filled with swag items and giveaways from participating vendors, including: Alicia’s Grooming, Durango Animal Hospital, Lulu’s Doggy Salon &Spaw, Camp Bow Wow, Lola’s Canine Bakery, Let’s Join Paws, Portraits by Catherine, Petco, Craig Road Pet Cemetery, the Dog House, Sit Means Sit Dog Training and Heaven Can Wait Animal Society.

In addition, Pizza Hut, Ma and Pa Kettlekorn and A1 Catering were on-site offering complimentary treats for human patrons. A portion of the event was focused on pet adoptions. Heaven Can Wait had a variety of dogs available through its Pups on Parole pet adoption program.

“This was a fun and beneficial event for us to be a part of,” said Ann Lalli, volunteer with Heaven Can Wait. “Five dogs were adopted that day into great homes so for us, that’s a great success.”
