Sandy and Les Farris came into Planet Hyundai Sahara for an oil change for their 2006 Hyundai Sonata and left driving a 2013 Hyundai Genesis.
“We thought we’d just walk around the lot while they were changing our oil. We started looking at Planet Hyundai’s new-car line. Besides contemplating upgrading our Sonata, I’ve also been in the market for another vehicle to replace my ’65 Oldsmobile 442,” said Les Farris, a native of Philadelphia who has lived in Las Vegas for 14 years. “We decided to do a sit test and see how the Genesis felt. It felt good and when they offered us a test drive, the Genesis felt even better.
“We loved our Sonata but wanted to check out the Genesis and we love it. We wanted a simple change and we found that with the Planet Hyundai staff and in the Genesis.”
Sandy Farris, a native of southern Illinois, is the primary driver of the Genesis. She said she fell in love with her new vehicle right off the bat.
“I really like the luxury of the Genesis,” she said. “It drives so smoothly and both the interior and exterior are beautiful. The car also has excellent power. It’s effortless.”
Sandy Farris also said they love the car’s 10-year, 100,000-mile engine warranty and the five-year, 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.
“The Genesis is considerably less expensive than many other similarly equipped luxury vehicles,” she said. “Truthfully, I don’t think you can beat this car.”
While Les Farris is about to give up his pride and joy, an Oldsmobile he has owned for 17 years, to purchase a new Hyundai, he said he is looking forward to the transition.
“There’s no question that it’s going to be tough seeing it drive off for the final time,” he said. “However, I’m thinking about a Genesis coupe that I test drove. I test drove one when we were having the oil change and I loved it. These cars sell themselves. You just have to get in and go for a test drive, which convinced us that the car was worthy of serious consideration.”
The couple said they appreciated their sales consultant, Ron Youn, an eight-year veteran of the car business and one of the dealership’s top producers .
“He didn’t pressure us at all,” said Sandy Farris. “He presented us the facts and let us make our own decision.”
Les Farris agreed. “He made us feel at-ease. Making an important decision like this is made easier when you have a sales consultant like Ron .”
