Dealerships to hold charity golf tourney June 1

Findlay North Volkswagen will host the annual Southern Nevada New Car Dealers Association golf tournament June 1 at Revere Golf Club at Anthem in Henderson, and a very valuable charity will be the recipient of the gathering.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Southern Nevada is the beneficiary of the event that starts with registration at 6 a.m. with a shotgun start set for 8 a.m.

A long list of raffle prizes will be awarded and lunch will be served after the event has concluded. Several vendors have already committed including Odessa Auto Auction; Manheim Auto Auction; The Las Vegas Review-Journal; KVVU Fox 5; Southwest Dealers Services; Telemundo; KSNV TV-3; Cars.com; and Edmonds.

A record field of golfers representing the Southern Nevada Car Dealers Association converged on Revere Golf Club at Anthem last year for a day of fun while also raising funds for the Wounded Warriors Foundation and the American Heart Association.

Findlay North Volkswagen, which is at 7500 W. Azure Ave., is entering its second year as the host of the event that has been presented for more than 40 years.

Earlier tournaments were presented at the old Tropicana Golf Course along with another course in Pahrump.

“We had about 280 players last year,” said Findlay North VW General Manager James Cobbs, “and we’re anticipating an even bigger field this year.

“This is one of the few times that all of us in the car business get a chance to mingle and it’s always a huge thrill.”

Among the dealerships already entered are Findlay Toyota, Auto Nation Toyota, Findlay Cadillac, Ed Bozarth Chevrolet, Fletcher Jones Toyota, Findlay Honda North, Centennial Hyundai, BMW of Las Vegas, Audi of Las Vegas, Autonation Nissan, Lexus of Las Vegas and Findlay Acura, to name a few.

Further information regarding the event can be found by calling Pam Russell of Findlay North Volkswagen at 702-982-4840.
