The Walker family believes in Centennial Hyundai, to say the least.
Trudy Walker recently purchased her fifth Sonata, while daughter Samantha Maughan has a 2012 Sonata 2.0 turbo.
Adding to the story is the fact that Rick Walker — Maughan’s father and Trudy’s husband — sold the vehicles to both family members.
Trudy Walker has been getting a new Sonata every three years.
“Hyundai has never let me down,” she said. “I love the way it looks and the way it handles. A lot of people think the Sonata looks like a Jaguar, but it’s sure a lot less expensive.”
Maughan, who lives in Denver, Colo., found her vehicle online on the Centennial Hyundai website (www.CentennialHyundaiLasVegas.com) and immediately called her father.
“I told my dad I want the car right now,” she said. “We did all of the paperwork on the phone and Dad delivered it to my front door within a week.
“I couldn’t have received better service.”
Maughan said she loves her Sonata.
“My car goes superfast,” she said, “and it’s very luxurious. The panoramic sun roof is very cool and the heated seats along with the smooth ride are also very nice.”
Both vehicles also get great gas mileage, according to dealership representatives.
“The first trip I took to Denver in my car we filled up in Vegas before leaving,” Trudy Walker said. “We drove to Grand Junction, Colo., to refill and went on to Denver. On our way back, we filled up again in Grand Junction and made it home with a quarter tank of gas.
“I think we put something like 1,800 miles on the car during the trip and averaged about 33 miles to the gallon overall. That includes some very challenging driving through the mountains, too.”
Maughan, a teacher assistant in Denver, took a trip to McCook, Neb., last July. The eight-hour, round trip resulted in about 35 miles to the gallon.
“The turbo is absolutely fantastic,” she said. “It’s like a rocket ship and you just get up and go right from the start. The power from the four-cylinder engine is unbelievable.”
Married for 35 years, the Walkers are dyed-in-the-wool Hyundai fans, to say the least.
“My family drives only Hyundais and I feel very comforted knowing that,” Rick Walker said. “I know that they’re covered by America’s best warranty on both new and preowned vehicles. As a matter of fact, the warranty for preowned vehicles roadside assistance is amazing at up to 10 years and unlimited mileage.
“It’s a comforting thought for a father with a daughter 800 miles away to know she can make one phone call and have someone there quickly without having to wait on me.”
The Hyundai warranty includes a 10-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty and a five-year, 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, while the preowned warranty includes all of the manufacturer’s remaining warranty and an additional five years unlimited miles roadside assistance.”
