Henderson Hyundai sets sales record in July

Henderson Hyundai set a dealership record in July, recording 350 sales. And sales consultant John Tutino is among the reasons for the success.

The July tally also marked the most sales in a month in the past 10 years at the dealership, 460 N. Boulder Highway.

Tutino is a 25-year Southern Nevada resident who graduated from Cimarron-Memorial High School in 2000 and graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas 2007 with degrees in cellular and molecular biology, along with chemistry.

“I had a part-time job when I was going to UNLV,” said Tutino, who wanted to become a pharmacist. “I was doing marketing for the Grand Canyon and ended up making more money in marketing than I would have as a pharmacist.”

When Tutino’s daughter was born in 2010, he left his job and stayed home for a while. Then a friend at Henderson Hyundai told him the dealership had a job opening in sales.

“The car business was totally different than any other sales job I had before,” he said. “The commitment with each sale and each interaction requires intense patience.”

Tutino said he drives 35 miles each way to work at Henderson Hyundai. He said there are about 80 dealerships between his home and Henderson Hyundai.

“I like the total package that they offer here,” he said. “Buyers get lifetime free oil changes along with lifetime free car washes. They can borrow Buck’s truck for any reason including moving furniture. And that, too, is free indefinitely.”

Tutino said there are other reasons the dealership’s sales have risen. The Hyundai, he said, is renowned for its 10-year, 100,000-mile engine warranty and five-year, 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. Also, each new car sold at the dealership comes with a warranty.
