ROAD ALERT: Airport connector ramp closures planned

Construction of a bridge expansion project will result in a Sunday-Monday overnight closure of the ramps between the McCarran International Airport connector and the eastbound lanes of the Las Vegas Beltway.

From 7 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday, traffic will be diverted from the northbound ramp, which takes traffic off the eastbound Beltway and then north into the airport, and the southbound ramp, which takes traffic south out of the airport to eastbound Beltway.

During the closure, the westbound Beltway ramp to the airport will not be affected and will serve as a detour.

Eastbound Beltway traffic will be detoured to the Warm Springs Road exit and back onto the Beltway to use the westbound ramp to the airport tunnel.

Traffic exiting the airport tunnel to westbound Beltway will not be affected. Traffic heading toward eastbound Beltway will be detoured to exit at Hidden Well Road and then turn south on Gilespie Street to Warm Springs, where they can reaccess the Beltway.

The airport connector bridge is the first of five bridges that will be expanded as part of the Clark County Public Works' federally funded Beltway Airport Connector Phase 1. The project is expected to be completed in January 2014.
