Sales lead to new job at Planet Hyundai Centennial


Mark Smith has purchased two Hyundai vehicles in the past month. In fact, the 38-year-old, six-year resident of Las Vegas has been so impressed with Hyundai that he is now working as a sales consultant for Planet Hyundai Centennial in the northwest valley.

"We visited Planet Hyundai Centennial Jan. 28 and were greeted at the dealership by (sales consultant) David Spence," said Smith, a native of Dayton, Ohio. "He showed us a new Elantra and a used Elantra so that we could do a comparison between the new and the old. We liked the way we were treated and loved the car we purchased."

Two days later, Smith and his wife, Danna, visited the dealership, purchasing another 2012 Hyundai Elantra.

After the purchases of the vehicles, Smith and his wife met with Spence. Not long after that, Smith accepted the challenge of the car business taking a position in the sales department of the dealership at 6200 Centennial Center Blvd.

"I cannot think of a better way to make a living than selling a vehicle that I actually drive myself," he said. "I have owned General Motors vehicles all my life and now I have two Hyundais. Simply put, there is not another automobile manufacturer in the country that has matched the qualities and features of a Hyundai in such a short period of time."

Smith's business background should be especially beneficial in the car business.

"It's all about how you treat people," he said, adding that his experience in the manufacturing business requires incredible people skills with employees and customers. "I'm just like everyone else in that I want to be treated well and at the same time I want people to drive a car that is not only affordable but is quality built.

"I'm told there is no greater sense of satisfaction than in helping someone purchase a car, and I guess you'd have to say that I'm a great testimonial for Planet Hyundai considering the fact that I own two of them. Because of my own experience purchasing a car here, I know there is a high level of honesty here, too, and I really like that element of the business."
