CappuccinoReaders' Pick: STARBUCKS COFFEEMultiple locationsThe ever-growing Seattle-based company launched the country's latest coffee craze in the 1990s but sat back awhile before expanding the chain to the iced tea-oriented world of sunny Las Vegas. The replicated shops have no table service and maintain clean-up-yourself policies that defy lessons learned in Restaurants 101. However, readers love their creamy "caps" enough to give Starbucks another nod as the best for the second straight year. Jitters placed second. Our Pick: JITTERSMultiple locationsThe ballot counters here remember feeling embarrassed when 7-Elevencq kept winning Best Coffee every year. That could be one of the reasons the higher-ups decided to release the howling staff critics from their cubicles - provided enough security was available. Jitters was probably the first modern coffee chain to hit town, and its creamy cappuccino won us over from the start. The company is now battling bigger-bucks Starbucks, but at least the 7-Eleven threat is finally just a bitter memory.
