Mexican RestaurantReaders' Pick: RICARDO'S OF LAS VEGASMultiple locationsIn a nod to another venerable Las Vegas institution - the Ansara family was the first to open an in-town chain - readers voted Ricardo's into first place. The food is always consistent, and menus have been revamped with a Southwestern slant to avoid being known as just a traditional taco and burrito place. Lively Chevys took second place in the balloting. Our Pick: DONA MARIA TAMALES RESTAURANT910 Las Vegas Blvd. SouthClose to downtown in a Mexican-styled building where banners tout its popular homemade tamales to go, family-run Dona Maria's has become a longtime favorite thanks to good food and service at modest prices. We should also note that it's the place to find journalists with hangovers leaning close over healing bowls of hot posole stew.
