Thai Restaurant

Readers' Pick: THAI SPICE

4433 W. Flamingo Road
The modern art look of this stylish dining place is probably one reason why the aptly named Thai restaurant has its third winning pick from readers. But the truth is the delicately prepared food comes with a spicy kick that can clear the head for days. Of course, you can wimp out and order anything on the vast menu prepared "mild," or simply choose dishes minus the chili pepper warning symbol. There's also a Chinese menu and vegetarian dishes at Thai Spice, a crossover culinary style adapted by places such as second-place finishing King & I.

Our Pick: LOTUS OF SIAM

953 E. Sahara Ave.
We feel guilty (among other things) after we hit a buffet and pig out on fatty hot sausages, baby back ribs swimming in barbecue sauce, pasta Alfredo and other hefty delights. Then we go to the multilevel dessert showroom and engage in further excess. Our solution to the aftermath is a trip to modest Lotus of Siam where the fine selection of authentic Thai food also features an all-you-can-eat buffet during lunch hours. It's stocked with an impressive and tasty array of authentic meat, fish and chicken dishes and, sometimes, we play part-time vegetarians by sticking with steamed vegetables and several meat-free rice and noodle dishes.
