Roller CoasterReaders' Pick: MANHATTAN EXPRESSNew York-New York3790 Las Vegas Blvd. South You'll take Manhattan -- without the Bronx and Staten Island, too -- as New York-New York's resident coaster provides Las Vegas' scariest way to see the Strip. (Unless you keep your eyes open while trying to cross the street, that is.) Southern Nevada's latest claim to coaster fame offers a dizzying array of twists, turns and dives. And while other coasters may boast similarly swooping moves, none of them can match the Strip for sheer sensory overload. Buffalo Bill's Desperado at Primm dipped to second. Our Pick: DESPERADOBuffalo Bill's, PrimmStill one of the world's fastest, steepest roller coasters, this big dipper first put Southern Nevada on the map for international coaster fanatics. And it remains our lose-your-lunch, scream-your-lungs-out thrill ride of choice. From its 225-foot drop into a tunnel to its 90-degree turns, the Desperado offers a range of world-class coaster thrills. And at 80 mph, it's only slightly slower than the traffic whizzing past on nearby Interstate 15.
