Place to DanceReaders' Pick: CLUB RIO3700 W. Flamingo RoadThe place that started it all is still the place to shake your booty, according to movin' and groovin' R-J readers who, despite all the new competition in town, retain their loyalty to the Rio's after-hours dance haven. Once hotel headliner Danny Gans finishes his show, the dancers become the headliners, watching themselves on giant video monitors. And whoever said disco was dead? As for the second-best disco in town, Drink and Eat Too wound up in the runner-up spot. Our Pick: RALuxor3900 Las Vegas Blvd. South Forget about walking like an Egyptian. We're more interested in dancing like one. (Some of us still remember Steve Martin's marvelous moves while singing his silly '70s hit "King Tut.") And the Luxor's fantastical dance palace provides a perfect setting for such flights of fancy, given its extravagantly out-there decor, which looks like it was inspired not only by ancient Egypt but by the campy cinematic space fantasy "Stargate." All they need is "Stargate's" androgynous Jayecq Davidson in full pharaoh regalia to make the experience complete.
