Place to Go When Price is No Object

Readers' Pick: FORUM SHOPS AT CAESARS

Caesars Palace
3500 Las Vegas Blvd. South
We who are about to max out our plastic salute you. With its Atlantis addition, the "shopping wonder of the world" expands on its already-lofty reputation, bringing more stores and attractions that send the word "upscale" onto a whole other continent. (It may be lost to most of us, but we can dream, can't we?) As for the Forum Shops' shopping rivals, Beverly Hills' snooty Rodeo Drive just can't compete. After all, it doesn't have a giant Trojan Horse, talking fountains or motion-simulator rides to take shoppers' minds off the sticker shock around them. Cirque du Soleil's "Mystere" at The Mirage materialized in second place.

Our Pick: TOP OF THE WORLD RESTAURANT

Stratosphere
2000 Las Vegas Blvd. South
You may get what you pay for, but you definitely pay for it when your night on (or, more precisely, overlooking) the town includes this gourmet haven. The view may be priceless, but the menu certainly isn't -- not with everything at lofty a la carte prices that add up fast if you'd like a salad, baked potato or vegetables to accompany your hunka hunka slab o' beef. (Your cholesterol count isn't the only sky-high number when you dine here.) So here's a toast to a restaurant that towers over the competition -- with prices to match.
