Bar for RomanceReaders' Pick: PEPPERMILL2985 Las Vegas Blvd. SouthAfter last year's brief flirtation with a noisy disco choice, Review-Journal readers return to their first love in this category. And why not? True love lasts -- and nothing much ever changes at the Peppermill's Fireside Lounge, where the waitresses still sidle over to the cozy booths to freshen your drinks (and refill the small jar of nuts placed at every table) and flames still flicker forth despite the pool of water surrounding them. Old flames are the best flames, after all. The smoky atmosphere at Hamilton's, inside New York-New York, lit enough of a fire under readers to wind up in second place. Our Pick: PEPPERMILLEven ink-stained wretches can be hopeless romantics. As such, we're suckers for a cozy fireside when we're in the mood to cuddle. As hopeless romantics, we're also big on tradition, which is why we keep returning to this longtime favorite. It's one Strip landmark that shows no signs of being imploded anytime soon. To which we breathe a sigh of relief, order another Technicolor cocktail and stare into those dancing flames, losing ourselves in another dreamy reverie.
