Readers' Pick: Coney Island Emporium (Inside New York-New York)

  • 3790 Las Vegas Blvd. South
This one has identical virtues for both those who love and hate arcades: It's isolated from the rest of the hotel, with its own entry to the parking garage. It also makes a great distraction from the roller coaster line, if you can get someone to hold your place. Coming in a virtual second was the Luxor, the first Strip hotel to make the arcade as important as the card room.

Our Pick: Coney Island Emporium (Inside New York-New York)

  •      No arguments with the hand-eye coordination of our readers. Though not quite as high-tech as GameWorks (which we didn't consider because this is the Hotel category), New York-New York does have a virtual racing speedway that allows you to compete with other players. But don't forget its low-tech cousin, the bumper car, where there's nothing virtual about ramming total strangers. There are also carnival games for those with a sentimental streak for the pre-microchip days.
