Readers' Pick: CHARLIE CHIN'S

  • Arizona Charlie's
    740 S. Decatur Blvd.
Tucked inside this low-rollers casino is a cozy, well-decorated taste of the same Chin's family cuisine people pay a lot more for at the Fashion Show mall. Here, the basic Chinese staples have been packaged at $6.50 each, but more adventurous dishes are still less than $10. The always-fun Benihana Village inside the Las Vegas Hilton sliced and diced its way to second.

    Our Pick: GEE JOON

  • Binion's Horseshoe
    128 Fremont St.
Those who persist in a snobby attitude about downtown would be well-advised to seek out this pretty, friendly room tucked away above the smoky casino on the second floor of Binion's. Nothing real inventive on the menu, but a lot of choices and modest prices: All the chicken and most of the beef choices are $9, with most shrimp dishes $12.
