HOTELS
Comedian![]() Readers' Pick: CARROT TOP3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South Our hotel results so far have been heavy on repeat winners and old favorites, which makes this affable hippie-clown's victory as refreshing as his frequent presence in the MGM's Hollywood Theatre. A low vote tally suggests there are other things to laugh at in this town. But enough readers latched onto the loopy prop comedy of Carrot Top, also known as 30-year-old Scott Thompson, to pull him slightly ahead of George Carlin's more traditional verbal wit. ![]() Our Pick: RODNEY DANGERFIELDIt seems only fitting that this 75-year-old hipster would move to Las Vegas to spend his golden years. In return, the MGM Grand Hotel benefits from the periodic showroom work by a classic comedian who, despite his fad status a few years back, never strayed far from a timeless machine-gun delivery that packs a couple of hundred punch lines into a 50-minute set. The tie-clutching Rodney may look ill at ease -- "What am I sweating for? I got the job!" -- but rest easy, you're in the hands of a master.
