Readers' Pick: RIO

  • 3700 W. Flamingo Road
Again readers weren't specific or something went overboard in the vote tallies. The Rio is so big now that the votes could be for the older Buzio's Oyster Bar, and some ballots did specify as much. We'll guess the ballots more generically labeled were talking about the Masquerade Village's more recent Village Seafood Buffet, where all catches arrive alive, awaiting slaughter in behind-the-scenes tanks to preserve maximum freshness. The twin Broilers at the Palace and Boulder Stations share second place.

Our Pick: EMERIL LAGASSE'S NEW ORLEANS FISH HOUSE

  • MGM Grand Hotel
    3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South
We don't mind repeating ourselves for a third year if the food is this good, and believe us, on journalist's salaries we don't part with an average $40 per person easily. But Emeril is one celebrity chef worthy of the self-promotion, as he shows us inventive ways to combine ingredients for special occasions.
