HOTELS
ShowroomReaders' Pick: MGM GRAND HOTELHere again we're not entirely clear which of the MGM's two rooms got the nod, or if votes for each combined to gang up on the competition. Either makes a solid pick: The Grand Theatre, with suitably mysterious Broadway proscenium trimmings for the "EFX" show, or the Hollywood Theatre, with solid sightlines for traditional headliners. The Luxor's new theater for "Imagine" placed second. Our Pick: LUXORWe don't expect readers to have made it down to check out the underachieving "Imagine," which opened in September and hasn't exactly had them standing in line for cancellations. But whatever fine-tuning the show needs, it has a great home: A theater with steeply tiered seating and a handsome lobby, which proves the reserved-seat, cash bar setup doesn't have to mean "low rent." Everyone has a good view, and the front of the stage bleeds off into the audience. Some of the acts even fly out over your head, to further break down the "fourth wall."
