Readers' Pick: DAVID CASSIDY

  • "EFX," MGM Grand Hotel
    3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South
Finally, a category where we're glad you have your vote and we have ours. We heartily concede that Cassidy livened up the "EFX" show with an energetic charisma, but he ain't no Caruso. We're not even sure he's a Julius LaRosa. Voters who gave him the nod over second-place Gladys Knight likely spent Friday nights between 1970 and 1973 tuned to ABC.

    Our pick: WYNONNA

  • Caesars Palace
    3570 Las Vegas Blvd. South
She started working Caesars with her mom as half of The Judds back in the mid-'80s, and later emerged as a personality in her own right, offering a bluesy, rockin' bellow to anyone who thought country music was all nasal twang. The "crossover" songs that get her in trouble with country purists play well on a showroom stage, but not at the expense of our gal's credibility.
