Readers' Pick: SANTA FE

  • 4949 N. Rancho Drive
You were predictably all over the place for this subjective category, spreading your pocket change among 18 different casinos. Yet the Santa Fe -- known for staying ahead with all the new machines such as Odyssey and Jeopardy -- emerged decisively ahead of the pack, reeling ahead of the Rio. It makes us want to scrounge around our car seats for that runaway laundry money and head north on I-95.

    Our Pick: SUNSET STATION

  • 1301 W. Sunset Road, Henderson
This is not a well-reasoned choice; it's hard to quantify slot payoff because it's one thing casinos don't have to report to the state. Instead, we rely on the ever-dependable word-of-mouth, and that presumed feeling of looseness we get when walking through a place with a lot of coins spitting on metal. Sunset Station is new, trying to get on the map, has a tremendous variety of machines and a good slot club to boot.
