Readers' Pick: GREEN VALLEY STATUES

  • Sunset Road and Green Valley Parkway area
So you think they're only statues, lifelike representations of just plain folks going about their daily business. But we have another theory: they're deceptively benign mind-control devices, transmitting an invisible signal to Review-Journal readers to vote them to victory in this category year after year after year. The Riviera's refined representation of the rumps revealed in its "Crazy Girls" revue finished second.

    Our Pick: 'CRAZY GIRLS' SCULPTURE

  • Riviera
    2901 Las Vegas Blvd. South
As you've undoubtedly noticed, we're not exactly shy about proclaiming our status as cultural philistines -- no ifs or ands. But definitely butts: life-sized replicas of the bikinied buttocks of the "Crazy Girls" cast members. Immortalized in bronze to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Riviera's resident jiggle show, this example of posteriors-for-posterity celebrates Las Vegas' cheeky attitude when it comes to tweaking its Sin City image. This is one rear view that holds a mirror up to its beholders.
