The world has many crossroads where people mix and mingle. But it's safe to say no other spot inspires the mix of people drawn to Fabulous Las Vegas. Fortunately, the Entertainment Capital of the World doesn't confine its entertainment to casino showrooms. According to R-J readers, some of the most amazing sights and sounds can be found outside on the Strip, as an endless parade of visitors -- from luxury-loving limo types to let-it-all-hang-out tourists in too-short shorts and tasteless T-shirts -- provide free street entertainment for one and all. The Forum Shops at Caesars finished second.
Our Pick:
FREMONT STREET
We used to love to cruise Fremont Street, pretending to be behind the wheel of "Vega$" hero Dan Tanna's spiffy T-bird convertible as we thrilled to the Technicolor neon of Glitter Gulch. These days, it's easier to experience Fremont Street on foot, strolling beneath the arched canopy that's home to an equally colorful, if slightly less garish, visual display. Just for fun, though, we like to look around while everybody else is looking up. They're oohing and ahhing over the sound and light show going on above their heads -- and we're busy oohing and ahhing over the astounding array of humanity that answers to the description "Vegas visitor."
