Place to Ride a BikeReaders' Pick: RED ROCK CANYON NATIONAL CONSERVATION AREACharleston Boulevard A longtime favorite among local bicyclists who can pull themselves to the side of the road long enough to fill out a Best of Las Vegas ballot. Red Rock's 13-mile-long loop offers not just incredible scenery, but all the climbs, dips, curves and straightaways a blissed-out cyclist could want. Even though the loop is a one-way road, keep an eye peeled for drivers who apparently have mistaken Red Rock Canyon for Daytona Motor Speedway. The more suburbanized Summerlin was your second-favorite biking locale. Our Pick: TORREY PINES DRIVEand Oakey Boulevard We're talking about the bike lane on the western side of Torrey Pines Drive, between West Sahara Avenue and Oakey Boulevard. There really is one there, honest. Of course, most commuters don't notice it during rush hour, when it's like martial law out there. But when traffic is light, it's a nice neighborhood to ride in. Once you hit the motorized frenzy of Sahara or Oakey, you're on your own.
