Readers' Pick: ANGEL PARK GOLF CLUB

100 S. Rampart Blvd.
Also another reader favorite, although one that was displaced last year by Badlands Golf Club. Angel Park offers three nice big golf courses, including a par-3 course. It's easy to get to and is situated in a house-free neighborhood -- laugh if you must, but that's important when we golf -- and check out the locals' specials if you go. And if you're new to the game, don't worry: Susie M. Berning, a three-time Women's U.S. Open champion, is head instructor. Desert Inn Golf Club was your second-favorite course.

Our Pick: BADLANDS GOLF CLUB

9119 Alta Drive
We don't pretend that all of you will agree with this pick. Actually, some golfers find Badlands' unusual layout positively infuriating. So pack a few spare balls, expect the forces of physics to toy with you every so often, and just keep telling yourself that it's only a game. Former U.S. Open champion Johnny Miller designed the 27-hole course, and note that the newest nine holes are more player-friendly.
