Place to Shoot PoolReaders' Pick: PINK E'S FUN FOOD & SPIRITSUpscale surroundings, color-coordinated pool tables, singles meeting members of the opposite sex. What else do you want in a pool hall? If you're among Las Vegas' new breed of billiards aficionado, not much, apparently, as this local outlet of a Colorado-based chain chalks up another readers' poll win. The Cue Club was your second choice. ![]() Our Pick: POOL SHARKSPool Sharks appeals to a broader, family-oriented crowd than traditional pool rooms, yet retains enough pool room tradition for old-timers. Much of the credit for that goes to Lou "Machine Gun" Butera, former world straight pool champion and a member of the Billiard Congress of America Hall of Fame, who offers at Pool Sharks a welcoming environment to families, youths and women with a clean, well-lighted playing area. And, while Butera does offer private one-on-one lessons, he's such a nice guy that, if you ask him, he'll probably offer you a few tips at no charge.
