Coffee/Cappuccino

Readers' Pick: STARBUCKS COFFEE

Multiple locations
It wasn't that long ago when 7-Eleven was an annual winner in this category. Not that we've got anything against 7-Eleven's cup of brew -- it's hot, it's cheap and it's everywhere -- but we're proud that you've expanded your coffee horizons. For the third straight year, you've given Starbucks your nod as the best place in town for enjoying what the humble coffee bean has to offer. Jitters Gourmet Coffee placed second.

Our Pick: JITTERS GOURMET COFFEE

Multiple locations
Taking nothing away from Starbucks, but we prefer Jitters -- which, by the way, predated Starbucks' arrival in town -- for our caffeine fix. Not only is Jitters a home-grown chain, but, to our admittedly ravaged taste buds, its brew seems a bit smoother than that offered by the big boys from Seattle. Jitters also offers a menu of tasty lunch-time sandwiches and salads that makes obtaining our midday coffee fix all that much more convenient.
