When the craving for ice cream hits, you can't go wrong by wading amid Baskin-Robbins' monthly 31-flavor selection. We're boring, we like French vanilla, but we love perusing Baskin-Robbins' experiments in creamy confection, even if some of them verge on downright weird (the chain will never live down that bubblegummy thing they came up with years ago). Baskin-Robbins, a repeat Best of Las Vegas winner, bested Golden Swirl Frozen Yogurt for this year's top spot.

Think of Cold Stone Creamery as the Benihana of frozen desserts. Choose your favorite flavor of freshly made ice cream or frozen yogurt, then select your toppings from a counter chock-full of candy, fresh fruit, cookies and other yummies. The counterperson scoops out a slab of ice cream or frozen yogurt onto a marble slab, plops a few whole cookies, some fruit or a couple of candy bars on top, and then chops, slices and deftly folds the toppings into the creamy mix. You enjoy the end result in a cup or cone. Our brain freezes just thinking about it.
