This smallish, inexpensive, informal eatery offers all manner of down-home dishes. Jambalaya, massive spareribs slathered with tangy sauce, catfish dinners, and beans and rice -- not to mention what may be the best greens, sweet potatoes and cornbread in town -- are on the bill of fare, and you can't go wrong with any one of 'em. The Hush Puppy was your well-deserved second-place pick.

We're as thankful as anyone else that celebrity chefs and upscale restaurateurs are discovering Las Vegas. But when we have a hankerin' for a good, filling meal at affordable prices, we're glad to have options such as Kathy's, too.
