Amusement Attraction

Readers' Pick: THE ADVENTUREDOME

Circus Circus
2880 Las Vegas Blvd. South

The pink pleasure palace behind Circus Circus got off to an iffy start in 1993, when management tinkered with pricing and admission policies. Nowadays, it appears folks have taken a shine to both the free admission -- at least to walk in and look around -- and the added carnival and kiddie rides. The latest attraction is The Fun House Express, a motion simulator that takes you inside the mind of a very twisted clown. New York-New York's Manhattan Express roller coaster bulleted into second place.

Our Pick: LOST CITY OF ATLANTIS

The Forum Shops at Caesars
3500 Las Vegas Blvd. South

Keep your money in your pocket -- you'll need it for the surrounding stores. It doesn't cost a thing to huddle up next to tourists who will invariably ask, "Is that a real person?" while watching the animatronic Atlas shake his trident at his rebellious, hard-bodied offspring, Gadrius and Alia, who gives meaning to the "Wayne's World" expression "robo-babe." Watch the show over and over until you can make out enough of the recorded dialogue to understand why all the fireballs fly before the mythical Atlantis sinks as dependably as Old Faithful rises.
