First-Run Movie Theater

Readers' Pick: CENTURY ORLEANS 12

4500 W. Tropicana Ave.
It didn't take you too long to get used to the idea of stadium seating -- risers separating each row of seats, offering an 8-inch head start on that young Michael Jordan sitting in front of you -- once this 12-screener opened at The Orleans in late December 1997. Perhaps it was the connecting casino that led to a commanding victory over Village Square, which offers the same stadium design.

Our Pick: VILLAGE SQUARE

9400 W. Sahara Ave.
We've forgiven this 18-screener for barely having the seats nailed down when we flooded into "Titanic" in December 1997. The sound and comfort level are still prime, and the shopping center is not only paved now, but has filled in with a couple of nice restaurants to visit before or after the movie.
