It was a close race, but the broncos edged the stock cars by a nose. The National Finals Rodeo took a five-vote lead over NASCAR action at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Like many sports events in Las Vegas, the second consecutive victory for the rodeo questions the definition of "local" -- the tight ticket makes it more of a cable TV event. But it does bring a lot of good country music to town before Christmas.

The "local" comment above tipped our hand: We're tired of watching boxing and rodeo on TV, even though we live here. If we don't spend a whole Winston Cup stuck in traffic trying to get to the speedway, there's more than 100,000 seats up for grabs.
