Bellagio, Review-Journal readers have one word for you: "Bella!" For those who don't speak la bella lingua, Italian, that means "beautiful." And, from the flower-bedecked conservatory to the graceful cupola atop the hotel's central tower, that's the operative word for Bellagio, which scores a close but decisive upset over two-time winner New York-New York in this competitive category.
Our Pick: BELLAGIO
All in all, we're mighty tired of the ubiquitous Y-shaped hotels that stretch up and down the Strip. But we must admit Bellagio has breathed new life into the tired design with imaginative ersatz-Italian touches inside and out, including a porte-cochere modeled on Milan's magnificent Galleria. Who cares if the resort's distinctive domed roof and large arched windows don't exist in Bellagio, Italy? They exist in Las Vegas -- and that's good enough for us.
