Readers' Pick: CARNIVAL WORLD BUFFET

Rio 3700 W. Flamingo Road It's around the world in 80 bites as the Rio's Carnival World Buffet -- the forerunner of the international food station trend -- asserts its claim to buffet bragging rights for the second straight year. Whether your tastes run to Brazilian barbecue or burgers and fries, this something-for-everyone groaning board lives up to its name. And the long lines guarantee you'll work up an appetite by the time you finally get to a serving station. Main Street Station chugged into second place.

Our Pick: GARDEN COURT BUFFET

Main Street Station 200 N. Main St. Sorry, readers, here's one category where we beg to differ. The variety of the fare makes each visit to the dozen different serving stations a foodaholic's dream, with such unusual items as oxtail stew, mussels in marinara, collard greens and Japanese cucumber salad covering all the ethnic bases and then some. In addition to the food, however, the atmosphere makes Main Street Station a winner: the trellised rafters, stained glass, French doors and antiques decorating the room make a visit feel less like a typical Las Vegas pig-out than an elegant dining experience.
