Readers' Pick: SUNSET STATION

1301 W. Sunset Road, Henderson The setting sun marks the place for locals' fun, according to readers who made Sunset Station their pick for the second straight year. Maybe it's the sunny Spanish surroundings. Maybe it's the wide range of entertainment, from concerts to movies at the 13-screen multiplex. Or maybe it's because Sunset Station -- despite its relatively new status -- seems to be in a state of perpetual evolution, with added attractions popping up regularly. But Sunset Station shouldn't be too complacent about its repeat victory; The Orleans finished a fairly close second.

Our Pick: THE ORLEANS

4500 W. Tropicana Ave. We know what it means to miss New Orleans -- every time we have a hankering to head for the Crescent City and then consider our perpetually strained financial state. But at least we can pretend we're in New Orleans, thanks to this good-times magnet that features lots of French Quarter-inspired decor, food and festivities, plus a lively showroom and an expansive bowling alley. (Hey, what other sport encourages beer drinking as part of the game?) And when we're tired of New Orleans, we can always head to the Orleans' 13-screen, state-of-the-art multiplex and escape somewhere else through the magic of the movies.
