Lounge

Readers' Pick: RIO

3700 W. Flamingo Road Readers, we have one small request: be specific! We're not mind readers, so we have no idea which of the Rio's lounges is your favorite. Is it the room-with-a-view VooDoo? How about the dance-'til-you-drop ambience of Club Rio? Ipanema Bar, anyone? Whichever hot Rio spot you prefer, your votes gave the Flamingo Road favorite a narrow win over Louie Louie's lair at the Las Vegas Hilton.

Our Pick: FONTANA LOUNGE

Bellagio 3600 Las Vegas Blvd. South We're still waiting for cabaret legend Bobby Short to appear. But at least the king of New York's swank Cafe Carlyle would feel right at home in this elegant room, complete with brocade booths, high-backed chairs and little lamps glowing on the tables to create an intimate atmosphere that sets off entertainers from quiet song stylists to high-energy swing bands. And if you get tired of watching the performers, you can always gaze out over the Bellagio's faux lake, ringed after dark by trees with impossibly romantic twinkly lights.
