Maybe we should make that "performers," because Gans has a million of 'em, from Elvis to Kermit the Frog, Rat Packers Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin to Las Vegas showroom stalwarts Tom Jones and Wayne Newton. After two years at the Rio -- following his local debut at the Stratosphere -- the versatile Gans has become Las Vegas' hottest showroom attraction. And it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Master magician Lance Burton materialized as the far-distant runner-up.
Our Pick: DAVID CASSIDY
MGM Grand
3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South
"EFX" is singing a new tune -- with Tommy Tune, who brings his own brand of Broadway razzle-dazzle to this revamped showroom extravaganza. But we'd like to offer one last tip of the hat to Cassidy -- a Broadway veteran himself, in addition to his indelible stint as "The Partridge Family's" resident teen heartthrob -- who helped transform "EFX" from an overblown, $50 million dud to a fast-paced blend of human and high-tech elements. David, we think we love you.
