Oh, Rio, Rio by the see-oh! And oh, what Rio patrons can see when they feast their eyes on the costumes the Rio's cocktail waitresses are almost wearing as they make the rounds. Evidently, readers never get tired of looking, because the Rio's arresting get-ups have captured this semicoveted title every year since the fashionable category made its Best of Las Vegas debut in 1994. At least we know some things -- including generous glimpses of skin -- never go out of style. An old favorite, Caesars Palace, and a newcomer, Bellagio, tied for runner-up honors, but the competition wasn't exactly a tight squeeze.
Our Pick: CAESARS PALACE
3570 Las Vegas Blvd. South
Our childhood penchant for playing dress-up gets a vicarious workout at the home of the nonstop toga party. Leading the dress parade: the spectacularly attired Caesar and Cleopatra, whose resplendent get-ups would no doubt astonish real-life Romans with their added dash of Vegas glitz. But even the "cocktail goddesses" patrolling the casino and the armor-bedecked "centurions" standing guard at the entrance to the Forum Shops display an inimitable flair. Sartorially splendid staffers of Caesars, we salute you!
