Everything in a new city should look new and nice, but you know that's not always the case. That makes us even prouder of the Sahara West Library & Fine Arts Museum, a grand but functional building that should hold up well in the heavy use that Summerlin South will bring to the area. Let the other side of town not be forgotten, however: The Clark County Library was only 11 votes behind.
Our Pick: SAHARA WEST LIBRARY & FINE ARTS MUSEUM
It has sweeping staircases, plenty of windows and an uncluttered feel in its passages, yet -- wonder of wonders -- it also has books. That's something we haven't always been able to say with conviction about our smaller library branches, where the collections don't hold their own against the architecture and auditoriums as well as they do here.
