Las Vegan You'd Like to Know More About

Readers' Pick: STEVE WYNN

No you don't, really. Unless you haven't read myriad news stories, features, interviews and books already written about a hotel-casino guy who has become the king and prime mover behind a radically altered Las Vegas for the new millennium. Rio performer Danny Gans finished second.

Our Pick: BECKY BEHNEN

Being media shy in a high-profile job can't be easy for Becky Behnen, especially when she's the new owner of Binion's Horseshoe, the downtown casino founded by her legendary father, Benny Binion, in 1951. We do know that Behnen is 54 years old. She bought out her brothers, Jack and the late Ted Binion, and her sister, Brenda Binion Michael, last summer to stake her claim as the new boss of the 373-room hotel-casino. She's revived the resort's famed $2.99 late-night/early morning steak dinner special and has initiated table limits at a gambling house once famed for its no-limits policy. Still, we'd like to know more about a woman who's holding the reins of a joint financed by good old boys.
