But not enough to keep readers from naming it their favorite place to venture into myriad canyons or scamper around on rounded rocks without need for ropes and pulleys. And it's only 15 miles back to downtown Las Vegas, making Red Rock a 5-to-1 choice over the higher altitude and more demanding trails at Mount Charleston.
