Readers' Pick: RUTH'S CHRIS STEAK HOUSE

3900 Paradise Road
4561 W. Flamingo Road

A food paradise such as Las Vegas has everything an eater could want -- from cheapo all-you-can-choke-down buffets to hoity-toity gourmet restaurants. So why, readers rightly ask, should a person spend beaucoup on an a la carte eatery? The cheapest Ruth's Chris entree is a chicken breast for $18.95, while a T-bone steak goes for $33.95. Besides, the place has a dumb name. (Our waiter says the apostrophe goes where it goes because the founder, a woman named Ruth, bought her first steakhouse in New Orleans, and was obligated to keep the "Chris" in any renaming.) We conclude that Ruth's Chris fans must like the familiarity of a chain that's in 58 U.S. cities and eight foreign locations. Planet Hollywood finished second.
