Best Lunch Deal

Readers think the old standby, McDonald's, offers the Best Lunch Deal.

Readers' Pick:
McDONALD'S
Multiple locations
Lunch deal? Try deals -- nine of them, and those come with ³super-sizing² options. It takes more time to figure out what you're going to eat at McDonalds than it does to eat. The specials hover in the three-buck range, though shooting the works on the grilled chicken can bust $4.69. The Olive Garden placed second in the most lightly voted of all Eat & Drink categories. Lunch must be a write-off in this town.

Our Pick:
MOUNTAIN HAMS & COUNTRY DELI
4613 Faircenter Parkway
This fine sandwich shop hangs on in an increasingly empty shopping center at Charleston and Decatur boulevards, looking lonelier by the day. But at least there's no trouble parking for a choice of four standing lunch specials, plus daily specials on the blackboard. The specials start at $3.49 for a half-sandwich and 22-ounce drink, and move up to $6.49 for a whole sandwich, soup and drink.
