Some folks have rules about not frequenting restaurants that have playgrounds attached, but apparently you don't have to be a kid to like the lively, family-oriented air of Joe's, where piles of crab legs are understandably the most popular menu item. We also hear the fish and chips are well above the norm. Second place fell to McCormick & Schmick.

Still relatively new and still going hot, this clubby-looking place is a favorite at lunch where the menu always features several fresh fish of the day, usually including a few just plucked out of the waters of the Pacific Northwest, the home region for the small chain.
