Best Vegetarian

Readers' Pick:
WILD OATS COMMUNITY MARKET
Multiple locations
Skimpy voting in this category doesn't do much to combat Nevada's image as the land of prime rib-stuffing chain smokers. But for at least three years running, these retail stores with cafe/delis tucked within have received the nod from readers who don't consider "organic" to be as dirty a word as "state income tax" or "zoning." Sweet Tomatoes, which we're running out of things to say about, was the second choice.

Our Pick:
RAW TRUTH
3620 E. Flamingo Road
The name says it all at this cafe that opened in early 1999, minus a stove or microwave. The rule is that nothing is cooked, conveying owner Bob Saladino's belief that vegetables, nuts, grains, seeds and fruits help rid your body of toxins. Salads and -- believe it or not -- flatbread pizza and lasagna are among the popular menu choices.
