Best Blackjack Tables

Patrick Jones deals blackjack at Binion's Horseshoe, the readers' pick for Best Downtown Hotel.

Readers' Pick:
BINION'S HORSESHOE
128 Fremont St.
Maybe it's a backlash to the new wave of heavily themed casinos, where gambling now seems to be an afterthought. But Binion's recaptures old glories for a second year in a row, and there's no arguing they do blackjack right. The place is just packed with tables, with a wide range of minimums for high and low rollers alike. The MGM Grand, another joint with no shortage of tables, drew enough low cards for second.

Our Pick:
HARD ROCK HOTEL
4455 Paradise Road
Blackjack is a social game -- though some robotic dealers could stand to be reminded of that. So why not play it in a rockiną, hoppiną casino that seems more like a nightclub? Let tunes from the pumping sound system level off your adrenalin, chat up the Beverly Hills, Calif., kids spending Daddy's money at your table, and keep an eye out for Dennis Rodman or Pamela Anderson Lee.
